Stuttering Gameplay - Any Advice?
Guys,
I wonder if anyone can help me sort out an annoying problem I have with stuttering during gameplay. Virtually every game I'm playing (Left 4 Dead 2, Bad Company 2 and The Saboteur) I'm getting pausing/jerkyness/stuttering during gameplay. My pc specs are Core i7 940, 6GB Ram, Win 7 (64 bit) and my graphics card is a GeForce GTX 460. All the games look fantastic it's just this stuttering and it's annoying as I feel as though my pc should handle the games (unless you guys tell me otherwise). One last thing, I downloaded a program to check the temperatures but I haven't a clue as to what's good and what's not! All advice would be welcome. Many thanks. |

Re: Stuttering Gameplay - Any Advice?
Hey guys, what hard drives are you using and are all your drivers up to date?
Also, what settings are you using in each game? (resolution and detail). |

Re: Stuttering Gameplay - Any Advice?
Guys thanks for taking the time out to reply.
My Hard Drive is a WD 2TB Caviar Black and my PSU is akasa 850w. As for the drivers, you mean for my graphics Card? If so, yes that is up to date. |

Quote:
Go to the download page Here and dowload the chipset driver. It may be worth looking at Flashing the bios to the latest version also..(Unless you already have) But Please Note: Make sure you have the correct info on the motherboard. Flashing a motherboard with the incorrect bios will render it unusable. (I am only gone with the info given and im not to be held responsable.) Last edited by MIG-31; Dec 6, 2010 at 08:44 AM. |

Re: Stuttering Gameplay - Any Advice?
A generic 470W PSU might be an issue here... what specific model is it?

Re: Stuttering Gameplay - Any Advice?
I highly doubt a 470W power supply will sufficiently power that rig. Even if it isn't the cause of the issue, I'd still recommend at least a 550W (650W would be better) psu.

Re: Stuttering Gameplay - Any Advice?
He didn't mention any overclocking, so it should be more than enough, if the psu can actually output as much as it says.
