Default Post Phoenix Award Bios v6.00 PG Upgrade

Hey guys,

I am desperately trying to update the Nforce 680i SLI motherboard BIOS to hopefully gain some stability for the RAID 0 set up on the Velociraptors that so far has given this mobo nothing but problems. I need the performance and this change is a must before I manage to completely update my whole system. I have been looking for a more recent update of the v6.00 Phoenix Award Bios and I am constantly redirected to the BiosAgentPlus.com website that seems to be the only location where I can download this upgrade from, however by paying only. I currently have the v6.00 PG version however I was looking for the latest one available. Anyone know of a good resource where it can be downloaded from?

Cheers

Phoenix Award Bios v6.00

Ill start off with saying that Phoenix Award are the Bios used on Many Motherboards...
These are used by each Manufacture of Motherboards (ABIT/Gigabyte/MSI etc) who add the options for there own motherboard...

If you want the latest bios you have missed out All the Vital details you are asking for help.

Who is the motherboard made by ?

What is the Exact (I stress Exact) Motherboard,As you cant use any bios by the maker.

And the Nforce 680i SLI is actually a chipset that is also used by many manufactures...

So if you require help more info is need.

The BIOS is customized by the motherboard maker and they are the ones that you should be asking for update to the BIOS.

Re: Phoenix Award Bios v6.00 PG Upgrade

The computer is an Area 51 Alienware from about 2007. When doing a hardware inspection, both with Sandra and Everest, or simply by eye the board's name is simply alienware. The board itself spells nothing but Nvidia and some serial numbers. I went to the Nvidia website and they offer BIOS updates by manufacturer like you said. The Alienware website isn't giving me too much help either, I have been unable to locate any drivers on their support section relating to BIOS updates. The only option remains to actually call them.

Have fun dealing with Dell.

Well, I think they prioritize their Alienware clients over regular, but still...good luck! Let us know how it goes.

I didn't have to deal with Dell since my system is older, from 2007 I managed to get into the "My hive" feature on the website where I had my whole order listed and I could see the manufacturer was in fact EVGA. Got the update and flashed the BIOS successfully. Also managed to get the RAID drivers from EVGA to try and set that up once more, hopefully with no more hard disk crashes this time.
