GTX 580 + Dragon Age II (Steam) = D:
Name says it all. Have the Steam version of DA2 installed on my rig, and I'm getting artifacting and piss poor framerates. I tried it originally on very high with 8X AA and no Antisoptric and ended up getting lower than 15 -- reducing it to no AA and still very high would give me semi-playable but still very annoying. It doesn't improve until I set the game on about medium...
Here's a pic: ![]() Now, I don't think it's the card, considering this doesn't occur in any other high intensity games or benchmarks. What do you guys think it could be?

AA fault could be.
Do you have it forced on driver level?

Not sure what you mean. If you mean have the settings manually set in the NVidia Control Panel, then yes, I have it set to the appropriate levels and this is still occurring :/

Re: GTX 580 + Dragon Age II (Steam) = D:
Eh, turn them off, that was my point.
If that fails, set them to let the application decide and don't force anything on driver level. The few times I had similar issues, most of the time it was on AA or some other driver setting. Hopefully this will help.

Are you running the beta drivers? Tried DX9 mode yet?

Re: GTX 580 + Dragon Age II (Steam) = D:
Haven't tried DX9 but will, no OC on the graphics card when this happened (it hits around 47C so no worries there), no beta drivers, and I tried this without the nVidia driver settings in the NVCP and still occurs...

Re: GTX 580 + Dragon Age II (Steam) = D:
Seems many Nvidia users are getting that problem on the maximum graphics setting "Very High" which turns on tesselation and other top end stuff. Try running on "High" for now, it's almost as good looking. Download the high resolution texture package if you haven't already, as it improves the overall look quite a bit. Happened to me on my 570 in the demo, unplayable on higher settings but none of that tearing.

Re: GTX 580 + Dragon Age II (Steam) = D:
Seems to be a big issue. Ugh. People are saying this is the HAWX2 revenge, but at least HAWX2 was playable with ATI. DA2 isn't even playable with nVidia right now.
Curious -- Craig/Stu reviewed DA2 using a 580. I didn't see such low results during that o.O Edit: wasn't a review, but was included in the 6990 review... http://www.hardwareheaven.com/review...gon-age-2.html

Re: GTX 580 + Dragon Age II (Steam) = D:
I have a 580 and that happened to me on the demo but when I played the full game via Steam it works perfect.
