Problem with Cd-Driver not reading disks ?

About one week ago, my CD-Rom wouldent read my CDs, no matter what format they were in.

I have tried connecting it to another computer, where it works without any problems whatsoever.

When I put a CD in, you can see it start to read the disc and you can hear it running around, but thats all which happens happening

I have checked in device manager where everything is in order and updated to the latest drivers, also tried to delete the " Upper and lower filters " but this dident help either helped, i have tried to search on the web " Google is your friend "and several seem to have the same problem but couldent find a solution that works?

I am running Windows 7 if it's any help?

Hope someone can help me, as i am unsure if I should reinstall the OS and whether it would work?

When you checked the drive in another system did you also check the cable?

Yeah theres no loose connection
