I don't understand what happened!!!

Hi guyz!!!

I have a Microsoft Keyboard Mouse Combo...Today suddenly the right-click button of the mouse stopped functioning...I don't understand what happened...
How can i fix it??? or Can i fix it or has it malfunctioned for good...
The left and scroll buttons work perfectly...
Plz help!!!

That could be a failed switch, any way to test it on another system to be sure?

Sometimes the switch just dies and that's it, although I haven't had that happen to me in a very long while *knock on wood*. If you have a different PC you can connect the mouse to (desktop, laptop, whatever) or a different mouse you can try on your PC you can make sure, but a broken switch is the most likely cause to your problem.

Theoretically, it can be fixed, but you'd have to take a working switch from another mouse (it would probably have to be the same model) and solder it yourself. If it's no longer under warranty, I think that replacing the mouse is the only reasonable thing to do (unless it's a really expensive mouse, then it might be worth saving).

Basic Logitech models are dirt cheap and work fine and if you want something with more features, A4Tech has decent laser mice with 5+ buttons that are almost as cheap.

Safe way would be getting new mouse and keyboard.

yeah sometimes mice just quit.. and quite often to repair some of that stuff.. is more expensive then it is just to replace.

unless you do it your self....
