exclamation This is what my friend chose!!!

Hello friends...

Yesterday i posted a thread "Budget Rs.7000/= to Rs.8000/=...What 2 buy???" but cud not get no better reply....

My friend wants 2 buy a Graphics card and PSU...Budget Rs.8500/= at the most.
He googled and found out his requirement in "Sapphire HD5750 1GB GDDR-5 Graphics Card" and "Seasonic Bronze Power Supply 400 Watt Model-SS-400-ES".

Now he wants to know if his choice is a good one...He needs these for atleast next 3 years to play games and do video editing...
Will these work together nicely???
Is their performance good???

Please help!!!

Re: This is what my friend chose!!!

what else is he running on this PSU?
It would be helpful to have the full specs of his computer.

the 5750 is quite an old card, and although I'm not too familiar with video-editing, dependend on the games he plays and the amount of detail / resolution that he wants to play on, a 5750 might not be enough. Games become more and more demanding with each new one that comes out, and there is no certainty to tell if that card might still be able to play games fluently, that come out in 1, 2 or 3 years time.

Re: This is what my friend chose!!!

should be enough in my opinion. PSU should be enough as well, although I'll let my fellow forum mates with more knowledge and experience answer that for certainty.

Re: This is what my friend chose!!!

I have replied yesterday on your last post check it. Cooler master extreme power 460w is better that you mentioned above. XFX is a solid choice if you want ATI cards. Get xxx version of the card from the xfx. This is an overclocked card. Check that reply and link to bitfang .com too.

Re: This is what my friend chose!!!

Not that CoolerMasters are bad, I'd probably stick with Seasonic. They are a good manufacturer and they actually make PSUs for many of the more famous brands and if it's the same 400W 80+ Bronze Seasonic I found, then it's got 360W maximum combined output over 12V lanes, which should be more than enough.

As for the card, 5750 is a good choice at that resolution. If you can squeeze a 5770 into your budget, even better, but 5750 is quite okay too.
