Re: Computer wakes up on it's own after several hours of sleep?
Have you got any scheduled tasks that are set to wake the computer?
Do you have media sharing enabled in your power options? Do you have an infestation that likes computers? Have you noticed my questions getting shorter? Are there any network tasks running?

if the above fail. Cut off the internet access to the computer and see if it happens again.

Have you got your system set to Sleep and Hibernate? If the PC is in sleep and it gets to the Hibernation time out it will Power Up before going into Hibernation.

Re: Computer wakes up on it's own after several hours of sleep?
My BIOS has a setting to wake up the system - like an alarm, mine wakes up at 6am.
Windows itself has two sleep modes which can be set on different timers. You can set the system to sleep after a set amount of inactivity and then you can set it to hibernate on a further period of inactivity. I noticed that if the system is in sleep mode it will wake back up before going into hibernation. You can find both these settings on the Power tab in control panel. You could also have a program that is accessing the internet to update itself an 1am. An anti-virus for example. Or something else is set to perform some task at 1am like the disk-defrag. |

maybe it has developed an AI and those few hours is enough for it to feel refreshed and ready for another day!

Re: Computer wakes up on it's own after several hours of sleep?
Any scheduled tasks at that time, if those can wake up a computer in sleep mode at all? Try finding out what can wake your computer up and disable any potential suspects.
