Big Grin New Case (again!)

I want to upgrade to a full tower case now, as i am about to get a new graphics card (GTX 590) and a water-cooling kit for my cpu (Corsair Hydro H60) and i just generally want a bigger case with better cable management.
I have £219 to spend, could probably stretch to a bit extra if it's worth it, to about £244. I am finding it difficult to choose though so any help or ideas would be appreciated.

These were a few i was looking at.

Lian Li PC-A71FB Alumiinium Full Tower Case - Black [PC-A71FB]

Silverstone Fortress FT02B-W Windowed Gaming Case - Black [SST-FT02B-W]

Cooler Master RC-1000 Cosmos PURE Black Silent Full Tower Case - All Black [RC-1000K-KKN2-GP]

Thermaltake Level 10 GT Visionary Full Tower Case - Black [VN10001W2N]

Re: New Case (again!)

I never say this, but I guess there is a first for everything. I would get the Lian Li. Only because of how it looks. The rest look terrible IMO. I don't ever like Lian Li cases, but this one looks very good to me.

I have no idea how good any of them are for anything else. So, strictly on what looks better to me, Lian Li PC-A71B.

Re: New Case (again!)

From that selection, the Lian Li. The reasoning being that the Cosmos has a flimsy back panel which can (but doesnt always) cause problems over time. The Silverstone performs well and is built well but causes issues with wiring if you dont buy the right components (cables not stretching etc) and the Thermaltake is designed for looks rather than ease of use (its still an impressive case).

Lian Li are giving you a no-frills design which will work well and look great.

Having said that, Kris makes a good point. The Elysium is an excellent case. I use one myself (which says a lot considering how many we have access too) and it also has a resonably standard internal layout.

Other contenders should be the 650D from Corsair, it may be cheaper but is great... and have a think about Fractal as someone else said. The money you save on either of these could be put towards another component.

Have you looked at Corsair's new Carbide series?
The technology is right up to date and the watercooling potential (or even air cooling) looks amazing.

Re: New Case (again!)

Looking at the site you linked to, I'd vote for the Corsair Obsidian 800D.

It's £224.99 inc VAT, just a bit more than the £214.00 that you talked about but less that the 244 max you stated.

Corsair Obsidian 800D Full Tower Case - Black [CC800DW]

Danged nice case with lot's of features. The biggest gripe that I've seen about it is that it's not "air cooled friendly", but since you are planning to WC anyway, that's a moot point

EDIT:
Another thing to think about might be extensions for the 8-pin and 24-pin cables. The ones on your PSU may not reach in a full tower case.

Lian Li is very clean.. but you don't like the cosmos?
I have had a Cosmos S when I was still using desktops and have to say, it's a huge but damned good case. And so very very sexy..

I don't like it strictly from how it looks, nothing else.
I don't like the handles on top and the all around roundness of it. It looks to me like a portable kitchen appliance.

Re: New Case (again!)

Thanks everyone!! you have deffinately helped me narrow it down abit,
so i have looked at all the suggestions and now have a second shortlist.
i think it's now out of the Lian Li, Xigmatek as it's huge, gives me all the space ever needed for expansion and watercooling and the Fractal Design case.
i was leaning very much towards the Lian Li untill i saw the Xigmatek and Fractal Design aaand im now stuck. And the corsair case looks like a really good option to.
Also thanks OldBuzzard for the heads up on the extensions

Re: New Case (again!)

Now to choose from two then
Xigmatek or Lian Li
if i go for the Xigmatek i can also get the extension cables and a 32 piece toolkit and still be in my original budget, plus it definitely has allot of space for future upgrades of all kinds. I also don't mind how the xigmatek looks, not as nice as the Lian Li but still i like it.
But if i get the Lian Li, it looks very sleek and stylish, plus it has a door that i can lock, this is useful to me as i will be going away to uni this year. And still has allot of space, plus Lian seem to have allot of extra's u can buy specifically for their cases.

beauty is in the eye of the beholder... hehe

id go with the xigmatek because of how well it performs, but the lian Li does look good...

just go with what you feel man, its come to the point where neither choice really is a bad one.
