Re: New gaming mouse
I had a Steelseries WOW-edition mouse for a while. Lasted around seven months before it become unusable -- no idea why. As far as build quality, seemed very nice, but I replaced with a Razer Boomslang 2007 and have been using that ever since.
You may love Steelseries, but personally, Logitech, Coolermaster, and Razer all make higher-grade gaming gear. Just my 2c.

Totally agree with 204 on this one. I personally have a Razer Mamba and absoutly love it!

Re: New gaming mouse
The idea behind wireless gaming mice is that while cords cannot be damaged or tangled, they can die in the middle of gaming sessions/tournies, can be messed up by certain-frequency stuff (microwaves, wireless phones, etc.), and can have a slightly longer delay (but not usual/common) than their wired counterparts. I would actually move to a wireless keyboard/mouse set up if my current set up ever broke, though
And I would recommend the Razer Naga, Logitech G500, or (if you must) the Steelseries WoW Mouse (for non-fps) and the Ikari (for FPS).
