phenom2 550 upgrade to Phenom II X6 1055T

Hi guys is it worth doing this? phenom2 x2 550 upgrade to Phenom II X6 1055T

Is the Phenom II X6 1055T overclockable to save 50 dollars on Phenom II X6 1090T

AMD gigabyte 785G + SB710 Chipset
8gig ram
win 64
asus 460

Does that Phenom II X2 unlock to a Phenom II X4? All you need to do is enable ACC (Advanced Clock Calibration) in BIOS and see if it works stably so I think that you should try that and if you're successful, then... I'm not sure that you'd need to upgrade, unless you do some heavy duty video encoding and 3D rendering. If it doesn't work, just disable ACC and things will go back to normal.

First, make sure that board will support the X6. It probably will, but you MAY need to do a BIOS update before you drop on the 1055T.

My last system was a PHII X4 940, and my current 1090T even at stock clocking is definitely a lot faster.

The 1055T should clock to 1090T speeds with no problem. Even if it doesn't, you will still have a much faster system.

hi ivan yup tried to unlock the cores through the hybrid in bios and amd overdrive both failed was unlucky

and thx to oldbuzzard i,m pretty sure it supports as my board is rev 1.1

but how do you overclock this cpu? my bios is only saying 14x200
