ok, so im just trying to figure it out, for gaming computer
is Asus Rampage III Black Edition + i7 960 will be good? or is Asus Maximus Iv Extreme + i7 2600k will be good? Also, Im thinking should i get SSD just for OS *ONLY*? |

Fine motherboards no doubt, but no need going for such expensive ones. There are boards going for half the price that are also fine for overclocking. For games the i7 doesn't bring much extra, but then again those models aren't prohibitively more expensive either. An SSD is highly recommendable for the overall system performance, and if you get one at the size of around 120GB then there will also be space for a couple of your favorite games. Better spend money on a sizeable SSD rather than a flagship model motherboard.

Both would be great, I would be tempted to go for the P67/2600K because it has native SATA 3.0 which will benefit the SSD (which you should also go for).
The only thing I would say it you might want to hold off for a month or so and pick up a PCIE Gen 3.0 capable board. That will give you a great upgrade path through to the next gen of CPUs and graphics cards. (E.g. http://www.hardwareheaven.com/reviews.php?reviewid=1232 ) |

yea, im not going to get the parts right away...
need money first. lol i will keep looking for better parts for my computer untill i get the money. |
