the SP1 wont work in any language other than english at this point sorry

MS will have all languages available though when the final comes out

now one thing to note

although having a new vlk will work for installing it......it turns it into a none corp version of XP

activation is still done yes.....but the hardware change problem is now a valid concern

also for users who try to slipstream the SP1 beta onto a corp WinXP cd they will be forced to use a standard Pro Key not a corp key as these make it Pro not corp and the SP1 betas werent designed for corp.........those are getting their own version

I'm using corporate with a valid key and the Service Pack is working just fine for me.

You know, you should give credit to that guy "the mentor" (or something like that) for writing that. ....I duno... It bothers me when I see people using other's quotes without crediting them... (no offense)

My friend gave me a copy of that whole 2 page long thing (that your quote originated from). We made copies and posted it all around the school. It was funny seeing the school officials trying to find out who did it.

I have the Devilsown copy of Windows XP Pro with the key FCkGW..., but when I try to change the key with a valid key from the KeyGen, the activation screen says the code is incorrect. I have tried many valid keys. How do I get a key that will work?

I think its explained that we do not ask and do not answer warez questions in the forum

any question like that you have you must pm to someone ask them that as we cannot control pms at all

Workaround to install SP1 on corp XP

Requirements:

IF you installed WinXP corp edition

and by accident used the Volume License Key: FCK....

and some stranger emailed you XP sp1 Beta

and you want to install the XP sp1 beta

and you have your own correct VLK

Follow these instructions:

0. Run a system resore to create a new checkpoint in case you need it.
1. Run regedit and go to: HKey_Local_Machine\Software\Microsoft\WindowsNT\Cu rrent Version\WPAEvents, on the right double click on "oobetimer" and change at least one digit of this value to deactivate windows.
2. Choose run from start menu and type in this command: %systemroot%\system32\oobe\msoobe.exe /a to get the activation screen and go to the second option which is activate by phone.
3. In the new screen choose the option to change product key, and type in the new product key (your Corporate one only).
3a. If it brings you back to the prior screen after entering the new key click remind me later and then reboot.
4. Close that window, reboot your system and enter the command in step 2 for the second time to verify your activation , you should see "windows is already activated".
4.1 Now install SP1
5. If you have done this wrong or without a valid key you will not be able to boot. hit F8 and select last known good configuration

Sorry I cant provide a key because 1, I am a MSDN member and could get my arse sued, 2 this is not a warez site.Hope this helps
Nice copy from windowsxp.nu

I don't want to fight with you, we both know you stole his work, and claimed it as yours, You told members over and over it was your work, So lets end this now. I don't feel like playing the word game with you.

You have ask for me to be banned, even though you were the one breaking the rules, so this is my last post to you, I don't like people who steal others work, to me you are just a leecher.

From your old pal, Phinal Phantasm:

(and now fixed by Crash Override for the new 1068 beta )

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

1. Get your old version of the hacked uxtheme.dll
2. go to %systemroot%/ServicePackFiles/I386 and remove uxtheme.dll
3. go to %systemroot%/system32/dllcache and remove uxtheme.dll

~~~(If you use my file skip step 4 and go straight to step 7)~~~
4. open your trusty ResHacker and throw in the hacked uxtheme.dll, and go down to Version Info and delete what it has, then replace it with the following:
----------------------------------
1 VERSIONINFO
FILEVERSION 6,0,2800,1068
PRODUCTVERSION 6,0,2800,1068
FILEOS 0x40004
FILETYPE 0x2
{
BLOCK "StringFileInfo"
{
BLOCK "040904B0"
{
VALUE "CompanyName", "Microsoft Corporation"
VALUE "FileDescription", "Microsoft UxTheme Library"
VALUE "FileVersion", "6.00.2800.1068 (xpsp1.020628-1905)"
VALUE "InternalName", "UxTheme.dll"
VALUE "LegalCopyright", "© Microsoft Corporation. All rights reserved."
VALUE "OriginalFilename", "UxTheme.dll"
VALUE "ProductName", "Microsoft® Windows® Operating System"
VALUE "ProductVersion", "6.00.2800.1068"
VALUE "OleSelfRegister", ""
}
}
BLOCK "VarFileInfo"
{
VALUE "Translation", 0x0409 0x04B0
}
}
---------------------------------------
5. Compile the script.
6. Save as uxtheme.dll
7. go to %systemroot%/system32 and rename the uxtheme.dll, uxtheme.bak... copy in the new uxtheme.dll and tell it you want to keep the unrecognized version.
8. Reboot
9. Have fun!!
