USB 3.0 Hub
I have a USB 3.0 2 port hub inserted via PCI-E installed and even after a reformat of windows 7 Ultimate.. The drivers can not be found.

Now without having to take it out of the PC i don't know the exact maker of it is...

This came along with the system HH admins had sent me so i don't know if they (Craig or Stu) know what it is....

Its just that windows 7 disk or windows update will not install the correct driver.

So any tips to get them working without have to pull it from the pc thats not forced to be on the pcb board to begin with...

The card most likely uses the NEC USB 3.0 chip and is not supported by Windows Update (yet). Google for "NECEL USB3 Host Driver" and you can find a package. I believe version "10180" is still the latest official. I have one like it by some generic brand.

Thanks you very much mkk...

Now as i had the info you gave me the Google were found very quick. Downloaded and installed without issue..

EDIT: i tried a quick google,But most of the time all it came up with were the Patch my Pc type of software which i don't use or trust.

NEC recently changed their name to Renesas, so thats the driver name to watch for in the future. Intel use the same chipset on their boards so it is worth keeping an eye on the P67 series page for new drivers e.g. http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Deta...adType=Drivers

Just be careful. There is a driver for it that will come up in Windows Update (it has an odd name that I can't remember at the moment), but whatever you do, DO NOT install it. At the very least it doesn't work, and at worse, pooch the system (I've had to reinstall a system once because even uninstalling the card, or doing a System Restore couldn't fix things).

Actually windows and all updates were installed before i placed the usb hub...

I don't have any new updates so i may have missed the one you are telling me to avoid..

however thanks anyway.
