Virtualisation fault
About a week or so ago I found that I can no longer run 64-bit virtual systems; the message is "the host is VT capable but VT is disabled". This is with VMWare and with Virtual PC. I've already gone through and reset my BIOS and even updated it to the latest version but to no avail. As far as I'm aware nothing had changed in my BIOS anyway though I could be wrong. It didn't bother me at the time as I only had one 64-bit system but as I now have more RAM to work with I'd like to use some 64-bit systems some more. 32-bit works fine.
Forgot to add - this started before the RAM upgrade. Any suggestions will be taken into consideration.

Re: Virtualisation fault
Didn't know that as I only tried it out for the first time when I found that VMWare wasn't working with 64-bit. Still, it wouldn't explain why VMWare doesn't work with it any more.

Re: Virtualisation fault
Never used VMWare, so i just checked and it does support 64bit guests. Other than enabling VT in the BIOS and VT Hardware Support (or whatever it's called) in the program itself, i don't know what could be wrong. A recent install/update defaulted your settings?

Re: Virtualisation fault
For VMware to work with 64bit as far as I know (as I have never had an issue with running a 64bit OS in it) the BIOS needs to be set with virtualization on (normally defaulted to off in most BIOS's I have used) and you need to be running a 64bit OS which it seems that you do by your specs. Other then that I would check to make sure VMware is set up correctly, but it should be fine by default.
In your BIOS I would make sure Intel Virtualization Tech and NX bit are enabled under advanced -> CPU along with Intel VT-d in advanced -> Chipset (These directions are based on the BIOS manual for the Motherboard listed in your specs Asrock may have changed names and or locations of these features in future updates.) Hopefully turning these on will fix your problem.

Re: Virtualisation fault
I sorted it. I reset the BIOS, chose all of my usual settings again and it now works.
Strange, really; I don't see any difference in the settings. VT-d and Virtualisation Tech were enabled already by the way.
