Will 2x gts 450 will run on cooler master elite 460w power supply. The processor is core 2 quad q8400 and cpu is not overclocked. Guru 3d says that it will take the max power of only 402 watts. Is it true?

Re: GTS 450 SLI power consumption????
well using what information i have...
your cutting it on the edge.. the 460 elite has 2x 12V rails rated at i beleive 16amps per (32amps total) which works out to 384 total output watts. And going by a few of the power figures for the GTS450.... running in SLI does appear to run it anywhere from 300-400 watts under peak load by itself. Figure in the rest of your computer and using just a base idea on numbers.... i honestly wouldn't advise running SLI on that power supply.. even though i think it "may" work but only if it were new and i wouldn't expect it to last as it'll be running full tilt all the time while sli is opperating. (the other card should go into an idle state when not running a full screen 3D app). Either way.... I would recommend investing in a better Power Supply if you intend to running SLI... or better choice is to actually run a single video card comparible to performance to running those 2 cards in SLI.
