Corsair AX vs OCZ ZX

I want to buy a very good PSU that I could use for years, but there are so many of them, even if I know the amount of W I want...
Corsair AX850 is maybe the best 850W PSU out there (from what I heard), but I have the opportunity to buy a OCZ ZX 1000W (both 80+ Gold) at the same price of the AX850, so now I am very undecided between these two. If the OCZ ZX 1000W is at the same quality of the AX850, I will definitely buy the OCZ because it's 150W more for free of the same quality (well, I really don't need more then 700W, but maybe in the future I will, so I want to not by another PSU for a long time), so I am writing here because I don't know which is better, I saw many reviews that put one above another... for example, here on hardwareheaven the AX850 is superior, on jonnyGURU the OCZ ZX 1000W have a 9.5 and the AX850 a 9.0... help =(

Re: Corsair AX vs OCZ ZX

First I want to link you to this PSU Makers: C-D : Who's Who In Power Supplies: Brands, Labels, And OEMs
It's a list of companies and who makes what.

Now as for my recommendation, if you want an awesome power supply and don't care for modular cables, then I highly recommend PC Power & Cooling.

Otherwise, you can look into Seasonic power supplies, they're more or less the best quality you can get, albeit more expensive.

After that, I'd go for Corsair stuff, OCZ can sometimes be a shot in the dark. Their lower end stuff is iffy at best. (I know it's not what you're looking for, but just saying their quality as a company) Their rebates and tech support is notorious for being crappy.

Go look at the ocz forums, then at the Corsair forums and you'll see a night and day in terms of support.

Re: Corsair AX vs OCZ ZX

Go for the OCZ, not because it is necessarily better than the Corsair but because it is a good PSU and your post seems to indicate that the extra wattage appeals to you.

Essenitally you will be happy with either.
