Re: mixing ram manufacturers
Well the pros..... really isn't anything significant other then it can work...
kinda the same for Cons... Generally provided you make sure the rated latencies and speeds of the entire memory you have on hand is the same.... i personally haven't had a single issue really. And I've mixed a LOT of different brands into a machine. 6 Different brands and speeds in a intel triple channel system and ran 100% stable. So really it's not the brands or manufacturers that have pros/cons... it's mixing different speeds/latencies. So with that in mind, Pro would be the benefits of having additional memory if you need it. Con would be that The SLOWEST memory you have in the system will dictate the speeds of the others even if they are rated for significantly faster speeds.

Re: mixing ram manufacturers
JUDAS,
I should have stipulated the understanding of not mixing different speeds/latencies. |

Re: mixing ram manufacturers
Then there shouldn't be anything to worry about..
just plug in the same speeds/latency memory and hit the power button. I suppose the only other thing to keep an eye on is that making sure that the voltages are the same too.. as the rated speeds...
