Mac G3 DVD-ROM ISSUE

i am not well adpt in mac and my girlfriends dvd-rom has stopped working ... when i try to load a disk it spins up but then nothing ... if i try to run a program it says that a driver has not been loaded .... any gueses?

also do macs have a bios? that i can get into?

never mind one of th pins were bent fixed it myself lol
