case fans
just a simple questain that im not to sure about.
my case is only a bog standerd atx case with no place to put a case fan so my idea was to make a small mod myself. i bought a 80mm case fan and right in the centre then down just a couple of inches so right level with my graphics card i bored out a hole to place the fan due to at the moment were having great but hot weather (for the uk) and on occaision it is making my psu work even harder to cool it down.hence the 80mm fan. all i would like to know which way round would be best intake or expell air? due to o/c the sapphire9600pro. |

I would say intake so that there is air flowing over the components. I could be wrong though. You could always record temps with the fan facing both ways and see what cools best for you.
I'm having the exact same problem with the weather. Case temprature is about 7c higher than usual and I have 5 fans in my case. Can't wait till winter.

if you think about now o/c cards with the extra air flowwing over should help. i will change around when i can find a small peice of cloth or a filter of some sort to help prevent dust build up. and your point about winter should be a big difference. |
