Gigabyte-Sized PocketDisk

I recently got this email from the company involved so I thought id share.

IOPlus Inc. (www.ioplususa.com), a manufacturer of USB computer peripheral products, has raised the stakes in the portable drive space with the announcement that the company is now shipping a one-gigabyte-sized PocketDisk. Based on the popular design of the former smaller megabyte-sized units that were announced by IOPlus Inc in February, the one-gigabyte model has all the same great functionality but now affords an awesome amount of storage belying the model's tiny form factor.

Aimed at the high-end user, this portable drive is large enough to hold everything from a small network of files to large presentations with graphics, all for an estimated street price (ESP) of $349(a). The unit, which is a USB-based flash memory disk, has no moving parts, requires no batteries and even offers password protection security for sensitive data.

Eliminating the need to burn CDs or carry fragile floppy disks, the PocketDisk One Gig is the perfect tool for consumers, prosumers or anyone who wants the latest and best in portable storage while keeping an eye on price.

Key Features

-- Portable

Move large amounts of files between your office and home computer with no fuss, no software and faster than conventional disk options. Take your entire Outlook Mail directory with you on the road (sent, deleted and personal folders and all), back-up your entire "My Documents" folder, archive thousands of digital photos and always have them on your keychain to show to friends, family or clients.

With one-gig of storage, the possibilities are endless, yet it's still small and sleek enough to fit in a shirt pocket. The PocketDisk offers high-powered memory for high-powered business -- ideal for presentations, spreadsheets, databases, personal and business data -- all without the nuisance of outdated floppy disks or the bother of burning CD's or using Zip drives.

-- Quality

Designed by two technology leaders, the PocketDisk offers the best in USB storage and mobility devices. The PocketDisk has at least 10 years of data retention and has a high reliability factor.

-- Ease of Use

With no moving parts and a sleek form factor, the PocketDisk is a true plug-n-play storage device. No driver is required (except on Windows 98) to download or move data between locations and devices, and no floppy disks or CD burning equipment is required.
