laptops and pc,s

Can any 1 please help me settle a discussion i had wiv a m8?
We debated on which was more powerful the pc or the laptop?I thought the pc was more powerful,and he thought the laptop was.
He said laptops are more powerful on the graphics side and for playing games i thought different
The more input the better pls,so i can settle this lol.

to me it has to be the humble pc.laptops are portable and are designed for small compact buissnes use mainly.they are not very upgradeable how many are big on graphical power(games) hdd size are quite limited compaired to pc's again due to size.etc

Plus another question are applemacs more powerful than pc,s as this is part of the argument.
