New Via 4.49p drivers....

I've been rummaging around and have seen a few instances posted that these new drivers after install on some systems ask the party to reactivate XP/changing ide drives to be seen as scsi drives,some really wierd things...Not sure if this is happening on all but it has been happening....for those who arent registered or donot want to register I would say beware of the updated drivers...

true.... it has been said this is happening.... .i'd wait till ViaArena officially announce them....

The 4.49's caused my system to run checkdisk upon bootup and I've NEVER had that happen before. They also screwed over a game I was playing and corrupted the save game file, so now, if I want to play that game, I'll have to start all over again. I don't know about you, but when something like that happens, it kinda kills my enthusiasm for playing the game. I was about 85% completed too.

I am NEVER installing another 4in1 that is not OFFICIALLY posted ever again.

But from what I have also read reinstalling the 4.48's fixes everything back to the way it was....not sure ....I have a couple people testing it for me.One says system is sluggish....sound settings wont stay at 5.1 now....but nothing of the reactivation ,that could be for those who were running a hacked version of xp without SP1.

..will post more after testing
