My computer is PIV 2.4GHz with 512MB RAM and Hercules Radeon 9800Pro. in Counter Strike I had on nvidia 100fps always, now it's moving between 50-100fps and it is bad
In other games, there is no problem, only Counter Strike.

Did you make sure TRUFORM is off in the control panel, and type
ati_npatch "0"
ati_subdiv "0"
in the CS console?

just wondering, but the most the average human eye can actually interpret is 24 fps, so even double that should be fine. I understand that older cats have better performance, but they may not neccessarily work with a 9800 pro. Unless you want braggin rights, I personally cant see a difference between 50 and 150 fps.

to check type in the console "net_graph 3" (without the quotes). BTW, try the "ftp_max 100" or "max_fps 100" too

Many people can tell the difference between 50 and 150 fps. Where did you hear that line about the 24fps?

Vampyromaniac, my optomotrist told me that's true... the thing about 24 fps. He also said over 30 you're fooling yourself if you think you can see a difference. Still... in CS using version 1.6 the fog in Aztec makes my geforce 4 run at 42.5 FPS, and it seems more like 22.5... ::shrug::

Your optometrist has his head up his arse. I can tell the diff between 24 fps and 100 fps VERY easily, well on a monitor anyways. Most movies are shot at 24 or 30fps, and if you watch it on a tv you probly wont notice a difference. The tv has a slowe refresh rate, a monitor has a high refresh rate. You will notice the difference between 24 to 50, and 50 to 100 very easily on a monitor. If you watch tv you probly won't notice anything above 24, even if you have tv out and are playing cs on your tv at 100fps.

And about...
to check fps type in the console "net_graph 3" (without the quotes). BTW, try the "ftp_max 100" or "max_fps 100" too

That also displays ping time and when my friend used to use it, it actually dropped his fps.

Type what Vamp said
cl_showfps 1

Accurate for fps and won't bog your game down.
