MD and MP3 and recording and uploading ???

I am looking for some type of QUALITY recorder with the capability to upload the audio directly to the pc. I'm completely new to the market and haven't a clue whats going on... I just saw a Sonly MD recorder and in reading the specs on it, it has the capability to download direct from your pc but nothing about upload. One could assume that the line goes both ways but I've gotten into trouble before with my assumptions.... And is there an mp3 recorder that has the capability to upload to pc or is it also DL only? Please help! What do I need to record top quality audio and then upload the audio to my home pc ?

The Creative Nomad Jukebox can do that, it records audio in WAV format, though . . . but I personally wouldn't use any mp3 encoder other than lame, anyway
