ping problems
i used the ping tool on speedguide.net's site. it staes that i have 100% packet loss. i can browse the web, download files without any problems. my online gaming has suffered though. i get low pings however the gameplay is very choppy. where do i start to diagnose and fix the problem? thanks for your help.

go to www.PcPitStop.com and run the FULL tests...
when it asks about your internet settings.... you might want to get the exact values your ISP says it will... this way, it can tell you what to do to fix the problems you might be having.... EXCELLENT site for testing other possible problems as well....

I merged this thread and the one you had in the Windows forum lodingi. As they are the same question and I deleted one of the double posts.

that's hard for a specific identifiable by others...
you may want to confer about the prob with your ISP or network service provider,.. use a program called "Ping Plotter" (a free version avail at PingPlotter.com) to gather all needed infos and give it to them. may be they can help.

i figured out the problem. my firewall program was blocking my ping attempts. i uninstalled the firewall and it's now working. still doesn't explain my sucking game play. at least one problem solved. thanks for your help.
