How much air flow do you have around your CPU, and what is your cooling setup as far as fans go?
Is it? 1. Positive 2. Negative 3. Neutral |

It'll be fine, I run mine at full speed constantly. It just screams like a banshee at that speed, that's all.
I also have the Volcano 7+. As soon as I can get some employment, that noisy SOB is gonzo. It works well enough, just noisy. WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!! |

actually i like the noise to be honest. it makes my system feel more powerful because ive got a big juicy fan, nice Northbridge fan (MSI X-Fan) dual fans at the back, gonna get colored system fan for the side so i can move the sidefan to the front for more intake

Running adjustable fans at "full speed" really means running them at stock speed. It's the lower speeds at which the fan is running atypically. If anything is bad for these fans, it's probably running them at LOW all the time.
That said, it probably won't put a dent in the lifespan of the fan significant enough to even notice. |

yea ok i guess im gonna run it at medium i think now LOL i put it to max when i play ut2003 that thing really works the system and cnc generals (which i need to get my second cd back from my friend grrr). those 2 games were literally degrading my 800 athlon... it was just too much on ut2003 the thing pushed out 50 fps with a mx440 at 800x600 and sometime even reset LOL. it was a such a power processor 200 mhz fsb. i got the thermal paste on and running MAT on ultra-turbo is fine now
