Liteon DVD+RW LDW-401s

I am planning to buy this DVD writer which sells very cheap here (~120 euro).
The thing is that Liteon kinda promised an upcoming firmware update will add DVD-RW capabilities.
I don't know if this will ever happen but even without that, it looks as a decent device with fast CDR burning speed too, 40X
Also it writes at 4x on rewritable dvd's.
