Couple of problems !
Just installed new mobo/processor, everything looked fine on boot-up. But when i insert a disc into
the dvd/ rom drive it will not run... keeps sayin " The application failed to initialize properly(0xc0000006) click to terminate. My 2nd cd/w drive runs the disc ok ? Have i got my wires crossed along the line Also my ge-force ti 4200 felt white hot on close inspection i noticed the fan was not runningdont know if this happened on installation or prior, can anythin upset the graphics card when changing mobo ? (it was my first attempt guys) |

Try giving the fan a clean m8, maybe a can of compressed air would do it, they do tend to pick up all sorts of dust etc and if you've just updated your mobo and processor a complete format and reinstall is nearly always necessary...

Allready formatted this morning before the error occured , and Ive taken the fan off my card to give it
a good clean, Cant see any loose wires from the card so im stumped ! My system seems to be crawling in certain areas, even though the upgrade has doubled everything previously, and the amount of error reports im getting....grrrrrrr Seriously considering going back to my athlon thunderbird and pc 133 ram had no problems at all ! The IDE drive cable could be bad, or teh drive itself could need a cleaning or be dead. Your Video card if the fans dead you can just go and get another Heatsink fan for it and they aren't too expensive and will let you overclock better if you do so.

I would always consider that the motherboard might have some issues... especialy if your system is crawling for no good reason.
