I'm looking for opinions on this. I've been wondering if ATI's Multimedia Center is really even needed for a non-AIW Radeon. I mean, I can use Windows Media Player or Winamp or PowerDVD or MusicMatch or various other 3rd party apps for viewing or listening to the appropriate files, I don't have TV in my card and I just don't know if I'm gonna miss something if I don't install MMC.
After the 3.7's were released, I used Driver Cleaner to wipe out all traces of ATI in my system before installing the newest drivers. Well, they didn't do it for me and I'm back to the 3.5 'hotfix' drivers, no big deal. I didn't re-install the MMC though. I fully understand the necessity for MMC in an All-in-Wonder variety of card, we have a couple of systems here with 8500DV's in them, but should I bother with it in my 8500 128DDR non-AIW card? So, should I install MMC? Any thoughts, opinions and reasonings would be appreciated. |

I have the same card as you and I consider MMC to be optional. I see no reason to install it if you can do everything the card is supposed to do without it. However, I do use MMC for some things, but, only because it's 'familiar'.
