dual ch ddr wont work with infineon ram!

well i went back to the store i got my comp from, i returned the 512 samsung ddr 400 for 2x256 sticks. the guy gave me infineon sticks.... ive had em on my old comp ram=n me ok. i tried to pair them but the comp wouldn't start... jus a blank screen. my friend did it with another brand and got it to work on his is-7 mobo. so i tried using 256 single, after a few tries it worked... but it gave me an error bout ram timings which i checked and it was ok. but now i cant boot into windows its just restarts and when i try to reinstall windows from dos i get a blue screen giving an XP error. im thinkin this an error jus cause its using 256mb, because windows 2k/xp saves their hardware settings in the windows folders and if any big piece of hardware (i.e. mobo) is changed it doesnt wanna boot it happened to me before. im gonna get my 512 back but how else can i get dual ch working with 2 regular sticks... i dont wanna buy a dual ch kit too much damn cash lol. my friend said the infineon sucks thats why it aint working.

and i hope i dont gotta format jus too lazy to setup everything everything is backed up

According to their site, it should be okay, if the memory came in a pack of two, I would take it back and get a new set just to be sure.

I would also check to make sure you are putting the chips in the right slot. Just looking at that board, it isn't as simple as others I've seen. For example, my Gigabyte board has it color coded for where to put dual channel chips.

ok i just returned the damn punk gave me 2 STICKS OF HYNIX(HYUNDAI) god they make the worst cars in the world, ive heard they used recycled metal in the cars! friggin garbage! and their ram must suck even more. i never knew of hynix... i saw nynix i thought oh maybe its infineon diff name. i then read on MSI's site in comp sci class that its actually by hyundai garbage! my friend is using 2 sticks of samsung on his is-7. i told the guy u didnt give me infineon. he knew he was lieing he didnt say shit. he said maybe next week he'll gimme some samsung sticks for 10 bucks (which i got back and spend on nachoes and beer at the blue jays game tonite LOL)
