Help me pick my new monitor.
So my 17” Optiquest is inching towards oblivion. Good little monitor lasted me through 5 years of heavy use. Now, it is time to purchase a new one.
I’m a tight-wad when it comes to computer hardware. I have a wife and two kids so “computer hardware” isn’t exactly at the top of my priority list. However, when I purchase something I go for quality so I’m not too concerned with spending a little more to get something that will last. I have narrowed the field down to three candidates. If you have experience with any of these models I’d like to read your opinions about them but all suggestions are welcome. Here they are in no particular order: Mitsubishi Diamond Pro 930SB Viewsonic P95F+B Iiyama Vision Master Pro 454 |

I have experience with all 3 of those brands at work.
If you want my orde of quality its: Iiyama, mitsubishi then viewsonic. Iiyamas last a long time in my experience and are just that bit more "crisp" picture wise. Stu |

no experience to any of those 3.but to me i would opt for the iiyama vision master pro due to the look are very smart.
the only thing i though is the stand with speakers would not be removable due to the screen controls down there would be a very awkward position for my desktop sinks down in the center position.for me anyway. Last edited by MIG-31; Sep 9, 2003 at 06:00 PM. |

Bah.
Now I just found this @ www.buy.com: NEC MultiSync FE991SB Price: $245.99 Rebate: $20.00 Shipping: Free Total: $225.99! Not bad for this monitor. Newegg reviews seem positive and they list this model for around $260. Bah. Decisions decisions.

I have had good luck with both IIyama and Viewsonic. My current monitor is a Viewsonic and I have been happy with it.

Samsung Syncmaster as amazing... High quality... i got my sister a 753DF and she's amazed at it's quality, high res.... and price.... we paid canadian just over the $200.. (17 Inch).... BTW, i think 763DF's are out.. if you want a really good monitor Go to Samsungs site...and browse around.... find a place you can get Samsung monitors..and compare constrast till you find one that fits.....They rule....

Now, I'm leaning toward the NEC/MITSUBISHI FP912SB-BK.
It has the same specs as the 930SB. I can get it to my door for $275.05! Can't beat that with a stick.
