Tweak your monitor. (A free guide)
http://www.monitorsdirect.com/toolkit/index.shtml
Near the end of the page is the button to launch it. My text is much sharper after I adjusted the convergence properly. |

heh.. damn, i've got a good monitor... i have the Brightness on it set at 0 (excellent).. i have the contrast at 100 (not bad).... power supply...even though they said even on good quality monitors....and at higher resolutions... there would be some bounceing.. well.. this sucker is stable... i'm impressed..the best monitor i've ever bought (i even tried it at 1920x1440)

Yep, mine didn't quaver at all either. What monitor do you have? I have the sony F520.
The one test where I knowticed something was wrong was when I looked at the very edges of the sceen on the convergence test 2 using a magnifying glass. |

Is these test similar to those that came with the early Voodoo 2 SLI and Banshe`s? I remember doing something similar to one of my older monitor (3 years ago, maybe 4). Anyway, thanks for the link craig588. Oh and everything seems fine with my outdated NEC Multisync XV17+ (damnit... )

According to that test, my monitor is perfect.
I didn't have to change a thing. That flashing test to test your monitor's PSU only resulted in about 1 single pixel difference to the sizing. My monitor is a KDS Visual Sensations 19"(18" viewable ) vs190p CRT. I bought it about 2 years ago and it's been solid. And it only cost $200 US brand new! Ya know, I remember something like this for the Voodoo cards too. The one for the Voodoo's was a little more in-depth as far as setting the brightness level though. You had a screen with sillouettes of monsters and you had to set it so the dimmest one was either just out of sight or just barely in sight.....I don't remember exactly....but it was cool. Great link craig588, that could come in very handy. |

excellent.....i think the KDS VS 190 monitors are really great.....however, after running one for a few years...then getting my new one.... and being impressed...the going back to it... i was like "erg.... all ....ew... dotpitch undesirable"....... seeing as the dot pitch on those suckers are around the 0.25-0.27..... and i'm running 0.20
