Dump a Barton in this machine and do a volt mod for the vidcard ram/core and mobo chipset/ram. Then get one of those 2000$ promethida cooling systems and it would be the best machine for me.

Of course I could go crazy and get a firegl, 4 WD raptors in raid 0, a 2nd F520, and a few dvd/cd-rw burners, but I would BARLY use any of that stuff to its full extent.

here i go:

I'd get Abit's non Comercial dual Athlon 64 boards

with it, the 8 GB of DDR-2 rated 500mhz

2 of the highest available Athlon 64's

a Radeon 9900 PRO (or by the time most of this actually comes available, maybe a Series 5 PVR chip should do me wonders)

I'm happy with my Hercules Digifire 7.1...

4 250GB Maxtor Sata 150 drivers running in Striped RAID (yeah baby, 1TB of pure speed)

I'm actually amazed with my Yamaha CD-RW, i'd get a another DVD Writer of sorts... (not sure which yet, probably sony)... i'd keep my normal DVD Drive... BTW, all these would be set to Master... no need for slaves).... AND i'd add another 250GB Maxtor sata /w IDE capbablity drive...for my Drive Bay (hot swap)

next, i'd get a Kyrotech case... value is about 3 grand... (US)..... comes with 5 liquid nitrogen cooling units.... in which case, i would replace both CPU Fan/heatsink.... the Videocards fan/heatsink.... and the north and south bridges..... turn the sucker on will give me guaranteed -40*C consistancy.. which would probably allow me to overclock the althon 64s to about 2-2.5 times there orginal speeds.... aloning with the video card.... my FBS would probably be able to hit 250FBS no problem.... letting me sync up with my 500mhz DDR-2 ram....

Windows XP PRO SP2

4 Logitech 3D Extreme wingmans

a Yamaha 5K 7.1z Amplifier.... (5000 watt Audio Amp with 7.1 hardware DTS EX DOLBY EX decoders and Optical in)
1 Liquid Nitrogen cooled Sony Super S-Type 22" subwoofer with Quad Ports
2 Sony S-Type 12" dual Ported Subwoofers
14 Speakers including a ported 6inch Mids and 2 inch Liquid Nitrogen cooled tweakers

a Room with the dimensions of 15'x15'x16' with very excellent laydown and carpet.... insilated walls..... A suspended sceiling (about a foot)

3 21 Inch Samsung Syncmasters (.20 dotpitch) rated 2048x1536 @ 75hz) (this is to be realistic)

a 64 inch HDTV Plasma TV with HD-DVD support and a VGA/DIN in

the computer desk/entertaimnet unit would be made of of soft white varnished Oak... with no glue...

I'd have 2 APC Server Bac 2500 which would give me 12 Backup Plugins along with up to 4 hours of backup time at full load

I'd Like a Microsoft Full Natural USB 2.0 Keyboard along with dual USB 2.0/1.0 ports built in..and a USB 2.0 Microsoft Mouse Explorer

The motherboard would have built in Gibit lan... no audio..... plenty of firewire/USB2.0,1.0/ ports..... i've like a 7.1 Surround sound headset with stereo mic....

i'd also like dual 600 watt Enermax PSU's

a Nifty custom build full sized Tower Case with all the bells/whisles for fans placement/lighting/window... along wtih mirrors on bottom/top

Lazy boy refully adjustable chair/recliner

a HP Professional Poster Master Printer.... (beyond legal sized printing along with Photos)
a Acer Professional Poster sized scanner

Media XP Drivebay and Hercules Media Drivebay

Highest Digital Camera i can find.....

I think i covered it all..except that i would like the same computer...only setup so that i can easily move it around for lan games.... or dances....

i'd blow you out of the water with my digifire..... that, and less quality...audio/ preformance problems...

BTW, Dances.... i setup up and use my computer for dances....

Basically, i take a $3000-5000 high res computer projector... another monitor.. plenty of audio cables.....

Setup my powerful amplifiers and speakers.... hook them up to my digifire... hook up my computer projector to the secondary display...my monitor to primary.... load up all my 320kb mp3s..... load up winamp 3... load up Milkdrop and set it to display full screen @ 1280x1024x32 on the secondary while i can do anything i want on the primary... such as change songs...you name it..

Also, while doing this...if anyone in the audience wants a song... i can either see if i have it...or if they actually have a cd with it... i can copy and play it.... also, i charge people if they want a complete CD made for them.... the sum is rather extremely cheap.... (basically the Price of a Blank CD and power/time put into burning it.....

BTW, the projector is setup to display usually above the heads of everyone on the dance flow... and at a VERY large wall..... on this wall displays the most amazing visualizations..... My first dance that i did this for.... everyone didn't dance..they just stood there and stared at the wall..... it's most funny..and satisfieing....... most interesting thing is.. trying to walk towards the wall while it's going.... it's sorta weird feeling....

My dream machine? Hmmm.......

A fully functional female pleasure robot. Comes with the ability to cook, clean, provide 'stress relief' and as a special bonus, a mute button. OH! and an ATM that is connected to some rich person's account.

Seriously though. Probably an Athlon 64 CPU and about 4gigs of the fastest RAM minimum. A Radeon 9800 (or faster, by the time I wake up), Audigy 2, the largest and highest quality CRT monitor I could find, the biggest and gnarliest speakers hooked up through a high quality receiver, a T3 line.........

........and a partridge in a pear tree.

Real specific eh?

I've Built mine and still adding to it.

My system specs built this 2 years ago based on information from 2CPU.com and from a close friend in my Nursing class. But since then, i have added two new cpus (fried one 1900+, ordered 2600's but sent back for 2800+'s long story), boot and backup drives, Sony DRU-500a, and liteon drive and promise ata addin card to run both cdr drives. Everything runs great together and not very many issues at this point in the game. I will not have to upgrade for a few years except for video card, dvd burner, and maybe a 7.1/or better soundcard.

CASE: Antec sx-1030B with window (ordered new side with glass)
Power Supply: Antec PP-510D Power Supply
MotherBoard: Tyan Thunder K7 S2462 -NG
CPUS: 2 AMD Athlon MP 2800+
VideoCard: ATI ALL IN WONDER RADEON 8500 DV
Memory: 2 sticks of Crucial REG ECC 2100 256MB Memory (512 total)
Memory: 2 sticks of Corsair REG ECC 2100 256MB Memory (512 total)
Soundcard: Turtle Beach Santa Cruz
Raid: Promise Raid TX2000 ATA 133 pci card
IDE: Promise TXT2 Ultra133 IDE ATA pci card
Harddrives: 2 120 GB Hard drives Western Digital Special Edition 7200RPM with 8MB cache (boot and backup)
Harddrives: 2 60 GB Hard drives Maxtor diamond max plus 7200RPM (Running raid 0)
Lite Drives: Toshiba 16x dvd 1612
Sony DRU-500A dvd±R/RW
Plextor 24/12/40 black (on Pci card)
LiteON 40125S (on pci card
Floppy: Sony 3.5 Black floppy
Cables: All Yellow Vantec Cables to fit 3 18 2 24 (Floppy and dvd/cd drives)
Heatsink/fans: 2 Thermaltake 6CU+ 7000RPM
Fans: 4 80 MM antec fans (one blue tri led), 1 in PSU
Modem: Ambient (Intel) V.90 hardware modem
OS: Windows XP Professional with all updates
Monitor: Sony G-520P 21 inch monitor with dual 15 pin inputs
Keyboard: Microsoft Elite natural with ergonomic keys.
Mouse: IBM Led mouse

I will try to post pictures later after I clean my desk and inside my computer.

Backup supplies
NMB 460 Watt PSU
Soundblaser Audigy platnium version one with drive bays accesory

Next updates (1-2 years)

Harddrives: 2 200-250 GB Hard drives Western Digital Special Edition 7200RPM with 8MB cache (Running Raid 0)

Logitech Z-560 4.1 Sound system with 400watt max (cheeper than 5.1 system)

ATi 9XXX/10XXX All-in-Wonder Radeon/? with Digital TV input/output (may be in the next 3-5, don't know)

Future updates (3-5 years)

Dual Opteron/Athlon 64/Hammer board with AGP (Thunder K8W) or better

2 Opterons/athlon 64/hammers or better

Windows XP 64bit edition or Windows Longhorn based OS for workstation servers or better

I became very happy with this system after ATi released beter and better drivers. I bought the AIW the first day on the shelves with like the 60XX drivers that worked okay, but not until Catalyst 3.4 my system would not run like it should but anyway. It will copy pretty much anything I throw at it except for some protections. I love working with audio and video. I divxed a in about 40 minutes at 80-90 frames per second. My only problem is the system bus sucks but I deal with it (probably would have divxed a movies in just minutes with a faster bus). I remember Lemmings the game that was based on the system bus. Man those little things would fly across the screen. I will just have to wait for a faster bus higher that PC2700 which is the current for Opterons in the K8W. I know that if there were more SMP benchmarks availible I would go with the Opteron system, but there are not very many PCI-X products availible (that I have seen in stores). My other question is PCI-X compatible with the current standards? The only benchmark that my system can be tested with is SiSoft Sandra for SMP capibilities. I pretty much blew everyone out of the water with this system. I am satified with my current Video for everything is stable at this point (I am very keen on stability). After I built this machine, No store owner I went into to show would not let me show them it. I guess that they didn't want to watch what it can do.

later
