Quick Question
I have a Abit AT7 Max2 mainboard
i was thinking of buying an AMD Athlon "Barton" XP3000+ 333FSB (Socket A) CPU - Retail (CP-035-AM) but unsure wether my board will take it any one know for sure ? i I know this is a bit of a stupid question , but i find it very to find any info on this. thanks |

Yep... that mobo will take any CPU that has a 333FBS bus... 400's... no... sorry.... I'm running a barton 2500+ 333.... most excellent... it's a damn good LOADED board....

Yep.... excellent.... and you should be able to overclock that barton up to at least 3400+ speeds...without you computer even complaining.... ENLESS you ram just won't cope for some reason with a simple multiplyer change.... (like mine)

..also... if you have any troubles.... even though the dimm slots are labeled.... place your first stick in Dimm 3 (or 0,1,2,3)... (which is closest to the CPU)... and continue from there... AND most important.... look in the manual for BOOT STRAPPING or something of the sort... before you install you cpu....go into the bios and look for DECODE speed... should be in the same area as the cpu vcore whatnot settings are.. set it to NORMAL... If set to fast..you in for a headache...

One more thing.... after savint the decode speed in the bios... turn of the computer (when you ready to install the new cpu).. unplug everything... and reset the cmos..... then install the cpu... this is make it a clean startup.... (safer overall to)
