Well Need a little help here...

After overclocking the hell out of my 90mhz cpu.... (still works well... running 180mhz (WOW double the rated mhz and stable).... it just won't run the stuff i need it to... Pogo.com.... for example.. it won't even load up cribage...

I'm guessing pogo NEEDS MMX support... So now, i'm wondering if i can stick a Pentium MMX Class cpu in this thing...

Here's what the multiplyers are for those of you that didn't know about my experiment...

It's has the following support:
50FBS
55FBS
60FBS
66FBS (this one won't run quite stable as the IDE seems to currupt.... but this might be the CPU not handling the PIO Mode for correctly)

Multplyers:
1x
1.5x
2x
2.5x
3x

(and i haven't looked in awhile...but 3.5x might be one that can be supported)

So, by the looks of it... i might be able to run at 200mhz even (199: 66x3)

BUT i'm wonding if the mobo will support the MMX tech..... it's an optic chipset.... the only thing i can get off the board is that it's branded as a Compaq Presario 9536

It has built in Audio/Video/8mb of ram (by the looks of it)... along with a modem that was "sorta" built in... (using a special ISA slot but i yanked it)

Need some more info?... might be able to grab some numbers off the Opti chips themselves... just ask ....state which ones i should look at....and if i can...maybe i can POSSIBLY get a PIC of the mobo/computer....

Found 2, one is a 166mhz no mmx (I think), and the other is a 200mhz MMX (dual voltage!)

I have an MMX chip: IBM 6x86MX PR300 It runs at 3x75, but you could probably run it at 180MHz . . . if you can feed it 2.9v

And dude . . . it's called FSB (front-side bus) not FBS . . . .

Think they both work, but then.. I also think i'm a knight of the realm.
but check first if this board can handle dual cpu voltages, which is a must need for a mmx cpu.
