Well, I'm not really all that rich, I'm just good at wheeling and dealing. I already found someone to buy my old system for full price.

Depending on application... there could be a MASSIVE increase... but that depends on application... Dont forget that a single A64 did keep up with a Dual P4 XEON (1MB cache each) system in Server duties... and that was just using 32bit... not even breaking ground into 64 bit.

if people only play games, then these upgrades are kind of pointless apart from the cool factor. alot of people I know only use pcs for gaming, now thats a scary thought......

then again with Half life 2 around the corner

Oh I will see an increase, I can promis that. I had to eat it up when I got this P4 3.0HT chip. I was actualy noticing some lag in Windows when I went from my XP 2000+. :-P

I'm phsyched. This is something for the future. I don't really feel like continuing with a company that has no choice but to use their lead competitors interface.

But you know what ? I still can play the games I want, shure it will be on lower framerate so what ?
it just takes me longer to finish them, meaning I get a longer play time for the same money.
See.. there is alway's an excuse if you need it

Yeah. like I said, there is always an excuse
I for one am very curious about the 64bit proccies and PCI express to, but I just have to wait...
report about it (how it feels, how it runs) as much as you can, would be my plea.

First thing when I get it, I'm going to run some benchies and run them up against what my P4 3.0HT can do.

Then, I'm going to stare at it for a little while and put on my Zalman all Cu heatsink and see if she wants to go up a little farther in speed.

As far as I know, there is an ASUS board and possibly an MSI board. What is wrong with Giga-Byte though, if I may ask?

I've always gotten everything in very good condition. The only thing I advise is make sure you go through FedEx whenever possible. I assume you live in the US? If so, go through Newegg, they really pack things well.

You might want to wait a little with the nForce3:

Nvidia: NForce-3 Bug

The extremely low AGP performance of the NForce3 can be clearly attributed to problems with the HyperTransport channel interface to the Northbridge. That is proven by the benchmark results and the performance differences of up to 33.2 percent. Details about this can be found in the benchmark section of this article.

Originally, Nvidia had planned to also integrate a SATA RAID controller in the Southbridge. Although the controller is included in the current NForce 3, Nvidia deactivated this feature. The reason was that error-free operation was not possible.
