Is dual channelling automatic?

Self explanatory question I guess. I know, I know, I'm a newb, but I'm more of a gamer than a techo guru. I guess that's why I'm here, to learn.

Don't you have to make sure the option is 'On' in the BIOS?

In my case, it's a no. The Phoenix BIOS being used by Soyo 865PE Plus Dragon 2 automatically enables dual-channel mode during POST.

Dual-channel is so awesome. I get 3.808MB/s of memory read speed and 1800MB/s of memory write speed (according to Aida32 v3.80). According to Aida32's chart, my memory write speed is at top even beating out the Athlon64FX 3200+(1750MB/s) and the P43.00HT Intel D875PBZ (1750MB/s) set up.

In the memory read speed, 3 set-ups beat mine: Athlon64FX 3200+(5400MB/s), P43.00HTIntel D875PBZ (4880MB/s), and the P43.00HT Albatron PX865PE Pro (3980MB/s).
