Poll: What download manager do you use or recommend?

As above, I am currently using star downloader. It works better than getright in mozilla, and it's free without adware. It looks like a rip off DAP tho..

Im using Getright the only thang that i like is that i can minimize the d/l into the system try

Download accelerator pro : spyware sucks. works pretty well though. i like alwaysresume.

Flashget : spyware sucks. period.

Getright : its alright, but unstable and kinda bloated. spyware sucks once again.

Net ants : never heard of it.

Star Downloader : very very good, but somewhat unstable in some situations. I like it.

Fresh Download : my favorite of the bunch and the one I'm currently using. Browser integration doesn't work all too well, but everything else works and I really really like it.

GoZilla : bloated piece of spyware crap and still lacking in features. pure bull.

Download Butler : never bothered with it. it didn't sound all that great.

ReGet : never heard of it.

When I was on Dialup I used DAP5 alot since moving to cable a few years ago I dont use any. sometimes corrupted downloads can occur with accelerators.

It's a free (LITE) taster for MASS DOWNLOADER.
It lacks any real management features (no scheduling, but latest ver can autoscan with many AV's)
Partial downloads are tagged in a program subgroup, and may be restarted from there.
Includes throttling, a feature lacking in many others!

I am on a satellite connection and using DAP I can avg around 250-300K a second, only get around 80-90 without it. Star Downloader looks amazingly similar though...lol.

yep, esp. if the server is slow and the speed is around 20kb/s. with dap or star downloader, you get twice to four times the speed. Yes, i have cable too.

If i need to download serveral big files, i will queue them up..
