Leadtek 4600 KICKS SOME SERIOUS ASS !

well I got my leadtek winfast a250 ultra TD (4600) today and after extensive testing (well 6 hours!) I can say it rocks.... after my 8500 (which I loved) its a major step up.

Being off work this week I decided to buy myself some hardware to play with and I got this at a great price here in the uk of £250 at ebuyer. this card was over £330 last time I looked.

I havent spent a considerable amount of time tweaking it, but in the time I have. here is what ive got.

I installed the dets 29.80s and used Rivatuner to fix the refresh rate... ive also used winfox II supplied with the card to get it to 315core and 750mhz ram, stable.

my 3dmarkscore is 12,650 up from 10,500 on my Radeon 8500 and the performance in games is quite staggering, from being able to run GTA3 at 1280x1024 32 bit, with smooth and fast Fps, to amazing IQ, just as good as my 8500 (regardless of what ATI fanatics say), this leadtek card has just as good IQ as my offical ATI made 8500 retail.

DVD playback is superb even on the 2nd monitor (which I feel the 8500 didnt do particularly well) via the leadtek dvd player.

so my next project? well of course the R300 .. lets hope Leadtek make a version of this card. because that company are amazing. this card is the best video card ive owned

Omega's aren't the best for everyone remember. His drivers haven't worked well for me for instance.

I tried omegas drivers, IQ was much the same (to my eyes) but I got alot less in 3dmark. I know 3dmark isnt everything and I certainly dont run my computer around a benchmark, but I have liked the 29.80s so far. nice IQ and stunning benchmarks.

do you mean quality?

as I said I noticed no difference to Omegas and the setting in the 29.80s at highest image quality.

you really should look at upgrading your cpu first ... it will be bottlenecking the card quite severly.

Now go and try the 30.30 set of dets if'n you're into performance, the openGL is a tad quicker.

I did man

and they are slower ... with the 29.80s dets I broke the top score on GLEXCESS on the main page with the card overclocked to 330 core and 750mhz ram

Jesus a P4 @ 3gig prolly bottlenecks a Ti4600! I can only imagine what it will take to run a R9700 or NV30 properly...
