Go to C:\windows\system32\drivers\etc
use notepad to open the file in this directory called "hosts" Now, at the bottom of the file, start a new line and type in the IP you want to rerout to. Press spacebar. Now, type in the address of the site that you want to rerout. (I hope that made sense). If this doesn't make sense, just open up the hosts file and read the instructions that the Microsoft folks typed (I think mine are a bit clearer )

Quote:
12.224.186.5 12.224.186.4 This would mean that whenever you try to go to 12.224.186.4, you would be directed 12.224.186.5.

Also useful for creating URL shortcuts
1. open a command prompt, type "ping driverheaven.net", it'll show you the IP address 2. in the hosts file, add the line "216.127.74.135 dh" 3. now you can just type "dh" in the address bar, instead of the full address, or going to the favorites/bookmarks menu
