Boot Multiple OSes
Hey Guys,
My boot.ini file has lost the path to win98 on the second partion (D) WinXp home is on (C) if any on you have Win98se on D or know what the path statement should be could you please help and post it. Thanks Ed Last edited by edperks; Jan 17, 2004 at 01:42 AM. |

Mine is the opposite; 98se on the C: and XP on the D:, but here's me boot.ini if it'll help ya any:

so this's not easy for me to give you a quick fix on the boot.ini. really, you've installed and separated win98 and winXP on its own partition, but if both partition are primary then it'll be someting more we have to do and not just fixing the boot.ini file. silly thought/say, i dont have your machine in front of me, i wish... so for certain, pls give us more info.. Have you ever before used any software like partition magic to hide one of the parttion on the HDD?? where's the location of your boot.ini and ntldr and NTDETECT files? it'll be easier if you can get a couple of screen shot and post here... 1) Computer Management -> Disk Management. 2) present boot.ini file. this'll tell and we can have a closer look on your system configs. the file sould look like one on Vampyromaniac posted.. again, thiss for certain...
