Crash Override is an unknown quantity at this point

Thinking about doing a CPU swap

In my laptop I have a mobile P4 2.2GHz CPU and in my main machine I have a 1.7GHz celeron.

Should I be able to do a straight swap on these? In other words put the mobile P4 into my main rig and the celeron into the laptop?

The only issue Im worried about is the laptop heating. Would a 1.7 non mobile work fine in a laptop or?

I know this seems like an odd inquiry but I never really delved into laptops a whole bunch since I primarily do work on DT's

Laptops are completely different beasts than desktops. If I was in your position, I wouldn't mess with your system.

I use to work on laptops and my answer is no it would not work and you might also kill your laptop in the process.

Hmm seems you might be right on the laptop side of things

Seems that the P4 mobile is only 1.3v while the Celeron is 1.75v

Hmm wish I had the spare cash to pick up a P4 then for my machine so I could get rid of this celeron
