CPU diode temperature

my system specs are in my signature
When I look at sensors in Aida32, it has a CPU diode temperature and a CPU temerature. But ASUS probe only shows the cpu temreature, not the diode. WHat is the diode temperature. And how correct is this temperature. And what temperature gives the best information about how hot your CPU is?

From various tests most software doesnt read the temps correctly....look in the bios or actually get a temp probe to find out the exact temps on your system....software reads mine about 10 degrees hotter then the temp probe

hmmm well AIDA32 seems to read my resonably.... as i don't think my real temperature for my mobo is 55-60*C and the the others are really as hot as the mobo reads... when AIDA32 reads them... they looks like normal... and my hardware monitor that came with the computer shows the same results..... i think my bios just doesn't show em right at all....(still don't want to take a chance)

I had similar problems when I was running my Asus A7N8X dx rev 1.04w/ 1.007 bios. The Asus probe was off by almost 10c in cpu temp. Sandra was worse reported my motherboard temp at 385f and my psu temp at 226f. Kept waiting for the comp to burst into flames. Motherboard monitor works very well with these boards however.

I installed MBM but it said the diode temperature was 144 degrees Celsius. This program didin't work well. Aida 32 gives the same temperature as asus probe. But asus probe doesn't tell the diode temperature and AIDA32 does. How can AIDA give that temp if a program from the maker of the board can't?
