Paid $150 for my Logitech Z-5300 THX-Certified 5.1 Surround Sound speakers, and I thought it was worth every dime.
![]() Sounds in all ranges are so incredibly crisp, I thought I literally walked into a movie theatre (in combination with my Audigy 2.) I hardly even bother to turn up my subwoofer, because the natural bass sounds produced by the 5 speakers is incredible! And if I cared to turn up my subwoofer, it's the baddest assest subwoofer at this price point I've ever seen! ![]() Total RMS power: 280 watts RMS Satellites 180 Watts RMS (2 x 35.25W front, 2 x 35.25W rear, 39W center) Subwoofer: 100 Watts RMS Total peak power: 560 watts Frequency response: 35Hz - 20kHz Drivers: Satellites: 2.5" aluminum phase plug driver Subwoofer: 6.5" high-excursion driver Speaker dimensions: Satellites: (H) 8" x (W) 3.75" x (D) 3.5" Center: (H) 5" x (W) 6.625" x (D) 3" Subwoofer: (H) 11.813" x (W) 11.75" x (D) 14.5" Signal to noise ratio: >85 db Input selector switch: 2 Channel (stereo) 4 Channel 5.1 Channel SoundTouchâ„¢ remote control Master volume Sub, center & surround levels Matrix surround sound (Note: This feature allows for "Simulated 5.1" when playing plain 2-channel audio.)

the power is rated "PMPO" instead of RMS. That makes a HUGE difference. Just divide by 10 and it will get you close to RMS. I hope they sound good and do what you want.

At some point i'm going to build a Surround sound system with some REAL set of speakers and whatnot...
I built my sister (she wanted cheap but damn good) a 1200 5.1 Surround sound system with a kick ass DVD player I got the Pioneer DVD player which was saposed to retail for $253... but got it for 100 less (excluding tax on everything) got the nice Futureshop Deal to... 4 years parts/labour/instant replacement-Upgrades no questions asked Along with the player i got a pretty nice AMP... 375 watt Yamaha 5.1 True Surround with DTS and Dolby Digital THX Certified (with all the nice bells and whistles) for about $350 (same deals as the dvd player) Next on the list is the speakers.... and there was no way i was going to let her get one of those crappy "built for Surround sound" speaker sets that cost an arm and a leg but really don't reproduce to well on every level... Went out and found some Speakers that totally did the job.... 200 watt SOUND ACOUSTICS...... they all are Directionally tested ported... 9 inch Mid-Low Driver with a 2 inch high tweeter... problem... they only come in 2's... so we had to get 6... and orginally all at $200 per 2.... lucky me... i got em for 98 per 2... sweet deal no? Got some nice THX certified heavy cabling... and now.. my sister pumps the volume.... in aww..... (while i sit and drool) Distortion free... useing Fiber optics.... love it... cheap.. and better sounding and louder then some of the 2K$ systems quite easily... all she's missing is a sub woofer... which really isn't needed... but would increase the bounce in the sofa's...... |

im only using a 2.1 setup. The sub is really cheap and crap, but the speakers are awesome, crisp through all ranges (better be for $400 au). They are the edirol MA-10D speakers, with digital inout(coax and optical) as well as 2 analogue stereo ins
