Computer Freezes When Idle
Its very odd, I just reformated and replaced the harddrive with Windows 2000 Pro, I have all the updates and yet from some reason if I leave it idle for more then eh, 5 minutes or so, it freezes. I checked and made sure that the power options were set to "always leave on" and hibernate is turned off and yet it still does it. It is a IBM Thinkpad 1500 I Series laptop with 192mb of RAM and 6.4gb hd. Have I overlooked something?

you say you replaced the harddrive? are you sure that its 100% compatible with the laptop?
What kind of laptop is it? I reckon this could be the drive spinning down after 5 mins and then wont come back up. Make sure the drive is seated properly and see what happens. I could say the laptop may need a bios update but I've never needed to do this on a laptop and not really sure if you can do it on laptops. |

The HD I replaced the old one with is the exact same one. So I know it can't be a compatability issue. I ran a chkdsk, virus scan and defrag and it hasn't happened since but we will see. I wouldn't think it would be an bios issue since it only happens when windows is running normally.
