HD partition lost

Hi guys !

A friend of mine is having a very big problem....
trying to reinstall Windows he delete the D:// partition instead of c:// ( how stupid he could be!!! )
is there an easy way to fix it and get back what was on the disk before ?

( the real problem : that partition contain all is girlfriend s school files ( UNIVERSITY ) so if he dont find a way to fix it he probably will not be able to get kids with her ....

)

could take a gander through google ~>http://www.google.ca/search?q=Restor...-8&hl=en&meta= HOWEVER.... Tiro might be able to help you out and point you to a good direction... i suggest you wait.. don't TOUCH ANYTHING ON THAT COMPUTER.....someone will have an answer....

BTW..... tell your friend to tell his girlfriend that any intelligent person would backup serious information on a regular basis (

just kidding though.... don't make it sound to serious...)

I've had the same problem... a costumer brought me a computer.... and i asked if there were ANY important files at all on it.. he was a student as well... i even asked about Papers or information and everything.. and he just said "nope.... anything on there i can get back... if you gotta wipe the thing clean... fine.... just want it working right again"...

so taking in what he had said.... i simply stated my usual "i am not a cirtified techy, therefore anything that may happen to this machine in whatever condition you end up getting back from..... is not my fault and i cannot be held liable..."

a week later.... i get a call saying that he didn't have the old files still on there... repeated what he said.. and he got pissed.... simply saying... even when you have permision.... accidental.. you name it... just gotta do your best..

Please.. don't do anything to the computer.. don't make a partition don't.... do anything...

sorry tiro knows nothing, all he knows is there're some good softwares like the ones can be found from the link on Judas's post and also many services avail out there but all of them are not free.. may be there's a free good ones out there.. any more comments or suggestions on this..?

Tiro.. any specific one that you could suggest? there's lots out there... even i haven't attempted anything like this....

The problem has been eliminated ! We use Partition Recovery ( http://www.partition-recovery.com/ ) .
Small program ... easy to use .... works great...

thanks for the info i think this's one of the good ones out there and it's only 29.99 US$,
compare with the R-STUDIO ( http://www.data-recovery-software.net/ ) 79.99 US$
my friend recommends it but i saw the demo version don't help much so i didn't say anything..
