Did you find the motherboard lock lever for the cpu??? It's right on the side of the cpu seat... lift the lever and the cpu should pop right out!!

someone please help by either an explanation or a good simple link on how to change cpu heatsink and fan to new motherboard. i have the fan off but the heatsink is clipped on there in a way that i cannot see to remove clips but i did unlatch them. now its to the point that to remove heatsink i would have to use extreme force and i know thats wrong. any way its an intel pent. 4 setup. any help would be apprec. as i am more of a software guy but im quickly learning about this hardware stuff...lol thank-you in advance. oh btw thanx to dh staff for the 1097 links so fast much apprec.

you have to use pliers and another screwdriver for removing the heatsink. it can be very hard.
