Default Post Dell Dimension 2300

im sure most of you know about this machine from Dell, but I saw the details a few days ago and meant to post them for those interested.

from the company details:

Quote:
Dell makes the Dimension 2300 easy to buy. Customers can purchase a system for $629 that includes a 1.7GHz Intel(R) Celeron(R) processor, 128MB shared(a) SDRAM, a 20GB(b) hard drive, a CD-ROM and a 15" (13.8" viewable) monitor. All 2300 systems come standard with a 1 year limited warranty(c) plus 1 year at-home service.(d)

The Dimension 2300 can handle a range of tasks such as running educational software and games, accessing the Internet, managing e-mail, and other business and personal productivity applications. In addition, the increased processing power of the next-generation Celeron processor and improved integrated graphics enable customers to use it for basic digital photography or managing their digital music collection.

The redesigned small minitower chassis saves space while still allowing easy accessibility to all internal components. Though compact, this chassis features two 5.25-inch bays, which allows 2300 customers to order up to two optical drives. The chassis also features two front-accessible USB 2.0 ports plus four more in back to make it easier to transfer digital data in and out of the computer system.

Dell complements the hardware with a full suite of software applications. All Dimension 2300 systems come standard with Dell Jukebox for managing digital music, Dell Picture Studio for organizing and sharing digital images, and six months of Internet access via America Online(R) (new members only)(e) or DellNet(R) by MSN(f) membership.
