My New Rig
Well since my last major tender at DH I've gotten a new rig. I'm not on that clunky DELL anymore. I went big and beautiful and went to Alienware to build the gaming rig I've always deamed of having. It's completley amazing. The specs are in my sig, and I'm working on a new AV/SIG to encorporate the whole deal...

Alienware probably charged what about $3000 for that? If you built it yourself you could get all that for 2/3 of that price. Anyway, that a hella fast computer anyhow. good luck with it.

yes very nice rig bud, I have to agree that the cost of building a box like that would be cut by 20% at least if you had put it together.

i think creative have messed up very badly in the past ill agree with hawk on that one, ill never forget the disasters I had with the live cards, rubbish drivers too.
When i first purchased the audigy 2 the initial drivers were heavily flawed with my whole computer crashing when I hit the volume up or down on the keyboard - a set was released last year which solved that problem and since then I can honestly say, hand on heart, the sound card has never had one single issue in game with anything garbling or corrupting or in fact any issues at all ! im honest about this, because ive ranted ALOT about creative in the past and how terrible their drivers have been. Ive tried many a card and yes some have better sound quality, some have better performance with specific aspects but ill challenge anyone to find a better overall card, every game works fine with it (all ive tried anyway), the drivers dont crash, and the audio output is wonderful through a good set of speakers for either stereo audio or digital surround. Its a wonderful all round card. Personally the only fault I have with them is the array of bloatware software on the CD you can install. I just install the basic sound drivers and use my own apps for fine tuning. |

Nice rig.
I could have built you a system exactly like it for less with a warranty. http://www.aacdirect.com <-----cheap plug ![]() Or for the same price a custom watercooled system with warranty. Here is a pic of a custom system I built for a customer. It is done but I am waiting on the purple UV dye lite. This rig costs about 3500.00 as it sits. It gets a 22000 3dmark01 score. (It would do better but the customer did not want to wait on an X800 so it has a 9800XT.) 3200+ A64 OCed K8V Deluxe SE 9800XT OCed 1 Gig PC4000 Ram Dual 120gig WD 8MB cache in Raid O Audigy 2 ZS Sony 8X DVD burner Matrix Orbital LCD Chrome GlobalWin 520 Watt PSU with blue lighting UV reactive blue case with clear side panel 2 dual uv catodes All watercooled with Solid silver TDX Danger Den cpu block Maze 4 GPU block & ram sinks on video card RAM Maze 4 Chipset block Chrome Xtreme radiator Tygon Tubing System has Low flow quiet fans and is whisper quiet. High flow fans would increase OC but the customer wanted quiet. |

Do you want a standard clear case for one of the colors?
The coloered cases cost about 10 to 20 dollars more. Also are you wanting to cool the CPU only or GPU and NB as well. A basic clear case with CPU cooling is around 475.00. That is a premium Clear case Chrome 120MM Radiator Choice of quiet 120mm (Pabast) or Antec 120MM LED fan (red, green, blure,or Tri) DD RBX waterblock with choice of mounting for P4.Athon XP or Athon 64 Tygon tubing Hydor L30 waterpump with PCI pump relay ti autostart oumo when system button is pushed 92MM Antec tempature controlled case fan. Leak tested and ready to go. Just add distilled water. |

Actually it cost me right around $2200. I did some research too, and it would be almost the exact same price if I built it from scratch. With Alienware I get the awesome case, and overall quality build.

Sweet setup you have there. Yes, "maybe' you could of shaved off a few bucks to have something "similar". You're happy though and the most important thing it's NOT a Dell.

Those AAC computers are pretty sweet setups, I saw them in Vegas at CyberXgaming, me and my friends were sitting next to team DFI guys.
Very Nice design and the Resevoir placement is Great for adding water |

Alienwares are cool b/c they are actually somewhat unique compared to other cases, i love alienware cases, so smooth. Nothing like the over over used chieftec types. Also, if you do not want to BIY, then I think Alienware is a good thing to try, too bad you couldnt get the proprietary ALX dualc gfx they will make next year....
