can you go a bit more into detail?
What kit are you using - are you using a wireless network? What are you using it for etc. |

you might have to reset the router. I have this problem all the time and I think its due to something either interfering with the wifi signal or some other strange phenomenen.
Power the router off for 5 mins and see if that sorts it. If not, you'll have to fully reset it (there should be a reset button on the back) and reconfigure it. And make sure you secure it with a passkey this time round. It might be worth setting the wireless up on a different channel than default (channel 1). I dont know how this is all done on your router though as I have a netgear model. |

You dont have anything like a new phone which runs in the 2.4Ghz range do you - it may be interfering. It may even be a neighbour has gotten a new phone and its interfering. If that is the case, then change the channel and that might help.

the distance is under 10 meters (upstairs to downstairs - rooms are almost directly above each other)

I groaned when I saw "Gigabyte" - two friends have both had Gigabyte routers (not wireless) die on them. So I wouldn't recommend Gigabyte networking kit to anyone.
It could be the router going faulty! |

i think it is the router dying
situation: network would be connected one second, then disconnected, and this would loop eternally i changed channels and the same thing occured moved the computer to under the desk the router was on - same issue going to go buy a d-link router now

Which D-Link are you going to get? I just picked up the 524 which seems to work pretty well. I had to replace my 614+ because it died.
